Meet Aixa Mastrangelo

Born in Colombia, Aixa, the daughter of a dancer, grew up with a love for the performing arts. That love was fully realized when she moved to the U.S. at age nine and started her own dance training. A few years later, she was invited to a children’s musical theater workshop in New York City, and the rest is, as they say, history. She was introduced to her favorite city in the world, and exposed to acting, comedy, improv, and so much more. She knew at that moment her path in life would be a creative one–regardless of the form.

Since then, she has obtained a B.A. in Creative Writing and Film Studies from Columbia University, where she focused on Fiction Prose and Filmmaking, while also engaging in Photography and Art History extracurriculars. For the past ten years, she has studied acting, primarily within the Eric Morris System. Combining her skills in all of these areas, she has acted, written, and directed several short films and is in pre-production of her own feature film. She has also worked on branding and marketing for major brands, which she views as a natural extension of her passion for storytelling. When she’s not creating, she’s at home in Red Hook, Brooklyn watching films with her husband and baby boy.
